interpretation

I chose this painting because I love Monet. All of his paintings are just so eliqent and beautiful, and I love so many of his paintings because they grab my attention because everytime I see them I think to myself how wonderful would it be too be able to see such beauty inside my head and then be able to transport it onto a canvas so the world could see it.

One perticular painting I enjoy analyzing is this painting of a pond filled with water lillies. I love the cool colors used in this painting and I think they play a major part in my interpretation of the painting. On the left side of the painting seems to show the top of the lillies which are represented by colors like yellow, light blue, and pinks. However on the right hand side of this painting seems to show the pond under the lily. This reminds me of the Ted Huges poem "To paint a Water Lily." Which decribes how strong the water lily is despite the hardship it faces both above it and below it.

  1. I love this cjoice! The painting is somehow both soothing and inspirational. It kind of reminds me of you -- beautiful and low key, but strong! And you connected it to a poem! Nice work!
