Dear Journal,
So I just graduated college and I decided to start this diary to document the journeys I am going to take part in. So here it goes. To be honest I feel weird taking to a piece of paper, or in this case a computer screen, but I want to be able to look back and remember my life. So let me start with the present. As I said I just graduated from college. My time at college was well spent. I made lots of good friends and had a lot of great professors. But unfortunately all experiences have to end eventually. Graduating college is the end of one journey and the beginning of another. So now I am going to spend some of the summer with my family and then in August I am going to spend a few months traveling. I did not think that is was going to be possible until I was much older and had a secure income, but about a month ago I won the lottery and although some may think that this is a bad way to spend my money, I couldn't let this opportunity pass me by.
Dear Journal,
It is the end of July and I have spent the past two months living at home, spending quality time with my family, catching up with old friends, and planning my trip. I have decided that I am going to visit England and Scotland. I decided on these two locations because I have always wanted to go to England ever since I saw Mary Poppins, and I have always wanted to go to Scotland as well. I also really want to go to Wales and Ireland, but I think I will go there another time. On this trip I am going with a few of my closest Friends from college but perhaps the next time I go maybe I will have a family of my own.
Dear Journal,
It is November now and I just came back from my trip. It was absolutely incredible!! I had such a good time. I have so many photo albums full of pictures from the trip. I am exited to be able to share them with my whole family during Thanksgiving. Unfortunately now that the trip is over I have to figure out what I am going to do now since I am back in the "Real World." Well even if it is a long long time until I get to take another vacation like this one I don't regret it at all and I think that I am ready to go out and get myself a job.

I smiled at the lottery part. Wouldn't it be nice to have enough money to make it possible to not have money? Your 'experiences' sound great, but I'd to see a detailed snapshot of your trip. Think about general vs. specific -- kind of the way you study a photograph for a long time. How can you create that kind of snapshot with words?
