So another memory I have about early reading was going to story hour at the Elting Library and at the Rosendale library. Along with going to story hour sometimes at the Elting Library people would come and preform for us. Sometimes people would put on plays or skits and sometimes people would sing songs. I would have fun going with my Friends and watching.
Another memory I have about reading and visiting the library is that every year I would do there summer program. During the Summer reading program everyone who participated would be required to read a book from a variety of genres and would be required to write about what you thought of the books you read. Also every year there would be a required project everyone would have to do one your favorite book. The projects were generally easy, one year everyone who participated had a piece of fabric and they would have to draw a character from there book on the fabric. At the end of the program they put all of the scraps of fabric together to make a quilt for the library. Also at the end of the program everyone who fulfilled the requirements received a little prize like a button or a key chain with the theme of the year written on it.
